Fitz and Floyd Classics Old World Santa Teapot

A breathtaking collector's centerpiece, this Fitz and Floyd Classics Old World Santa teapot is one of the most elaborately detailed and artistically ambitious pieces in the Fitz and Floyd Classics line. Handcrafted in China and bearing the authentic Fitz and Floyd Classics maker's mark, this large-scale ceramic teapot is sculpted entirely in the form of a magnificent Old World Father Christmas.

Santa's head forms the fitted lid — rosy-cheeked and serene, with a flowing white sculpted beard, twinkling dark eyes, and a red diamond-quilted hat trimmed in white fur and adorned with a sprig of holly and red berries. The hat brim is edged in blue and gold lattice trim with a gold bell at the tip.

Santa's body forms the teapot vessel — a sweeping diamond-quilted crimson robe with white fur hem, over which he wears a deep forest green tabard richly embroidered with gold floral scrollwork and poinsettia motifs, edged in blue enamel and gold rope trim. His broad belt is rendered in burnished gold with scrollwork detail, and his sturdy brown boots peek out below the fur hem.

The handle is formed as Santa's gnarled wooden walking staff, topped with a tiered gold finial lantern in deep red and gold. The spout emerges from Santa's toy sack on the opposite side — a crimson quilted bag from which a golden teddy bear with a blue ruffled collar peeks out.

The rear of the piece is equally spectacular: Santa's back reveals his overflowing toy sack at his feet, bursting with a toy train, a pink house, a nutcracker soldier, a wrapped gift box, and more — all tied with a large red bow and green ribbon. A small blue bird perches on his shoulder.
